Python3 support

Post by thomas »

Hi,

since everyone is finally switching to Python3 pretty soon and I was thinking about writing a basic Blender integration, I wanted to ask what your roadmap on this topic is.

cheers,
Thomas

Hi Thomas,

We plan to include Python3 support on a per application basis as they all won't be rolling out at the same time. We do have clients that have converted the existing connectors to Python3 using simple conversion scripts for their own needs and they have been reporting back that all is working well. The tool they used was 2to3 https://docs.python.org/2/library/2to3.html

Cheers,
Andrew

Ah, cool.. I was going to try that tool since it seems that it's mostly print statements that are affected. Now I just need some time to actually do it :)

thx,
Thomas
